Boerne Football Season

August 12th 2026 | Saige Diaz

Looking for football in Boerne, TX this fall? 🏈 Whether you're cheering for the Boerne Greyhounds, Champion Chargers, Geneva Eagles or checking out Crestmont flag football, we've put everything local families need for football season in one place.

We're talking marching bands, cheerleaders, concession-stand nachos, seeing friends in the stands and letting the kids experience those Friday night lights. ✨

Now for something especially fun if you have elementary-aged kids!

Both Boerne High and Champion have programs that give younger students the chance to experience some of the Friday night excitement right on the field.

Have a future Greyhound at home? 💜

The 2026 Rowdy Hounds program is open to boys and girls in Kindergarten–5th grade.

Cost: $20

Kids receive a FREE T-shirt and get the chance to run onto the field through the tunnel with varsity football.

YES.

Will they sit quietly and watch four quarters of football?

Probably not. 😂

But honestly, that's part of the fun.

For younger kids, a football game might be more about:

🏈 Watching the players run onto the field
🎺 Seeing the marching band
📣 Watching the cheerleaders
🍿 Picking a concession-stand snack
🐾 Seeing the mascots
👯 Finding friends in the stands
✨ Experiencing those Friday night lights

My mom tip: Don't put pressure on yourself to stay until the final whistle.

Go early so the kids can see everything happening before kickoff, grab some nachos, watch the band and head home when everyone has had enough.

You can still make a really fun family memory without making it through all four quarters. 😂

If you're going to a game, make it a family night!

Grab an early dinner somewhere local → head to the stadium → cheer on our Boerne kids → hit the concession stand → and maybe finish the night with a treat.

Even if your family isn't really into football, going to a local game is one of those classic fall things to do with kids in Boerne.
